| My public school is reasonable. If it's hot, it's available. They asked us not to set it below 22 degrees, which is fine. Any cooler & some of the kids are wrapping themselves in blankets. |

| Nope, they won't turn on the AC until after the 1st of July for whatever goofy Korean reason it is. |
If you don't like it, go back to wherever you came from Richard Cranium! |

| That's why I love working for a hagwon. You don't have to deal with 300 administrators, a principal and vice principal. I only have to deal with one guy. |

We have an air conditioner with the remote mounted on the wall in the teachers room. When any single Korean teacher gets cold, they simply turn off the entire unit rather than adjusting the temperature or fan speed. When one of them did it today, I had to explain that while they're okay in sauna-like conditions, the four foreigners sit in our chairs sweating and smelling up the place.
Thus ensued a crazy conversation wherein deodorant was referred to as some dirty, mysterious object never before used by the Korean teachers.
For me, I can't work when it's hot. So I either go in a classroom with my personal remote before classes, or have aircon battles with the Koreans during classes. On, off, on, off, temp up, temp down. That sort of thing. |
