|
|
Hi,
I can't find it anywhere on their site or on the internet. Does anyone know what the excess charges for baggage are above and beyond the 44 pound baggage limit for one bag?
I have to check two bags. Flying ICN-HKG.
My next plan is to call, but thought I would see if anyone on here knew or had had experience with them!
Planning on carrying on a standard carry-on size suitcase, that is under 7kg/15lbs, do they weigh these? How strict are they normally?
Thanks guys! |

The last time I flew Thai they allowed 2 bags with a combined total of 20kg and they did NOT check the weight of the carry-on.
Additionally, if your laptop is carried separately it is allowed as a "free" extra and the weight is not checked (I tend to overload my laptop case with other electronics).

Ok, can't get through to Thai Airways so far via phone. Sent e-mail and no reply.
I've read online that you are only allowed one checked bag at 20 kg/44pounds, but their site says nothing further about additional pieces.
I've read on other sites (non thai air sites) that excess baggage is charged at 40 GBP per kilo!!!! That can't be right, can it?!?!? That is literally INSANE.
Any thoughts?
Even if I have two bags checked, they are gonna be over 20 kg...guess I gotta send stuff home beforehand if this is the case. |

Sending stuff home is cheap. 48k won for 20kg packed into a #5 postal box (from the post office) - surface mail.
A LOT cheaper than paying for extra luggage.
