but i never want ANYONE to work for REI andong ever again.

www.andongesl.com

please go there. read the truth about a man who shouldn't run a business, and if you are empathetic and have a website, please link it from your website so anyone researching the job they were offered in andong WILL NEVER SIGN A YEAR OF THEIR LIFE AWAY TO REI ANDONG.

and i don't think i'll post on this topic again. it's tired me out.

I had a girl come to my home page a few days ago asking me about her friend, an English teacher who seemed to hate Korea. She wanted to know why it was and what she could do about it to show her Korea's good side. I told her that it's possible he might just hate his job and is taking his frustration out on the whole country (I'm not sure though, never met the guy) and if that's the case she won't be able to do much to help him like the country if his life is full of stress now. I put up a post about your page as well in case one of the people on my page is curious in hearing your first-hand account.
I assume that Rei Andong is all behind you now?

I used to work there too.

REI Andong is truly hell on Earth.

Andong itself is a beautiful little city. I would reccommend working in Andong, just not at REI or with a man who goes by the name of "Monster" (no joke people! His English name is Monster).

As for his e-mail addy: I had it once but lost it. I do have his brother's though....

This clown Eric Kim was supposed to pick me up at the airport when I first arrived. He went to the wrong gate and I had to walk around Incheon Airport looking for him. After an hour I found the guy. Then he put me on a bus and I never saw him again. Apparently my school was once connected with REI in some way, but isn't anymore. I think that's probably a good thing.

'just because',

i will explain the appeal of REI andong - this guy is a scam artist, straight up. he is a fast talker, has a rep for being smooth with the ladies, and knows how to kowtow and bull-shit about his curriculum to a mom, who doesn't know her arse from her elbow when it comes to english...

he has two students who have learned english of their own volition, from living in the US and canada at points in their lives. one of them, a 12 year old boy, gets the highest scores in andong english tests, the TOEIC or whatever.

i don't know what kind of deal he has with the kid's mom, but he takes his english scores and holds them up as some kind of success story for REI andong. it's a load of horse pucky and it's clear that this kid (who speaks way better english than his director) rolls his eyes at the idea of being held up as a poster child.

once again, confucian rules keep someone from speaking up about being used.

One of the things that got this ars into trouble in the first place was borrowing money to pay off debts.

When you're half a million US dollars in debt to both bank and mob, I suppose you do desperate things including stealing, lying, cheating, blackmail, fraud, assault, etc.

The appeal of the place originally for me:

Smaller city, good pay, chance to have a motorcycle (lots of rural and dirt paths to ride on), and a good chance to study my Korean. (Having calculators thrown in my face pisses me off. I always wondered what would happen if I did that to a Korean back home....)

The city itself is beautiful (well, the parks and mountains, lakes, rivers, etc.) The man promised me the moon, and gave me a peice of cheese (rotten cheese at that).

REI Andong: avoid AVOID AAVVOOIIDD!!!!!!!!!
