Hi guys,

What's the latest information on the DMZ?

1. Can it be visited at present?
2. How much does it cost?
3. What't the best place in the DMZ to visit?
4. How does one go about it? - with a tour from Seoul or make our own way up there?
5. Can you go into North Korea at present? Or could you ever?
6. How long do you recommend going for? Can you stay the night in the DMZ?
7. If it's possible to go over the border, can you stay the night in N. Korea?

Thanks.

Do the USO tour.

http://affiliates.uso.org/korea/

You cant go into NK unless you go through China, it is very expensive.

We're doing the USO Tour this weekend, but have previously gone to a different part of the DMZ with www.adventurekorea.com. They offer an overnight trip with a visit to a war musuem, a home stay in the village of Odaemi as well as a trip to the 2nd infiltration tunnel and the Unification observatory. Check out their website for all of the details. Well organized and overall was a great trip.

How do you book the USO Tour? Do you just ring the Koridoor phone number on the USO website?

Is it too late to book for this Saturday?

Thanks.

The site says you need to pay at least 4 days in advance, but you never know.

Send Lucy an e-mail to find out. She usually responds very quickly:

[email protected]

Good Luck!

I've been to other parts of the DMZ and it was a great experience. I'll be doing the USO tour this Saturday for the first time, but have heard it's one of the best things to see when in Korea.

I'm a bit confused. They're telling me now that the price is 92,000 won. Or $76 if I pay in USD. But even on Korea's official tourism sites, I've heard is that it's 42,000 won. What happened? Is this legit? I did talk to Lucy...

We all paid 92,000 won. Maybe the Korea Tourism site is outdated.

One word of advice; pants and shoes are required for the very first part of the tour in the JSA, but not after. We all changed into shorts and flip flops for the rest of the day after we left the JSA and it made the hot and humid afternoon much more bearable.
