My current contract is ending this October, and it seems increasingly unlikely I'll get the extension I want. With the news about the GEPIK hiring freezes for certain times I'm a bit worried about finding a public school job after my contract ends. I don't want to wait 5-6 months and I don't necessarily want to work in a hagwon.
I know there are some public schools that hire independently - that's how I got my current job in fact. How common is this now even with the hiring freeze? I'd like to have a PS job starting sometime soon after October if I don't get my extension at my current school. |

Choices are as follows:
A) You apply to as many recruiters as you can and uphold the theory they need us more than we need them.
B) You are a casualty of the ESL wars and guinea pig. Let's hope that doesn't happen.
Keep the fight alive, apply now, apply often. |

You could try the after school programs. Public school with hagwon benefits with arguably better hours than a hagwon or public school.
