|

So I went to sign on for another year today but my employer I noticed too the section where it talks about receiving the severance bonus out. When I asked him about it he said that it was because it was required of them by Korean Labor law so there was no need to put it in the contract.
I was just wondering if this was true or not because I had heard some rumors that severance pay was no longer part of Korean law but instead up to the schools to decide. |

It is still part of the Korean labor law. However, I would not sign any contract where this bonus is not stated. Tell your boss that if it is part of the law, what is the harm of not stating it directly in your contract. Don't sign it unless he explictly states that there will be a one month bonus at the completion of the contract. |

Then tell him there is no need to sign it. It's "American law". |
