It's an unfortunate front page picture which is likely to chase people away.

Huh? What are you trying to say, exactly?

what are you trying to say? Vowels are of the utmost importance in Korean speech, as opposed to English where only stressed vowels are really relevant, and consonant clusters are more important.

No, I really don't get what you're trying to say. I think you're trying to say Korean isn't easy, or it's not phonetic; and your last post is just as cryptic as the first (lack of vowels???)...and the IPA link? I feel like I was in the middle of watching Star Wars and all of a sudden Animaniacs came on.

Most of Cert's posts read that way. And no, I don't mean crazy like, "You're crazy for being a Birther," I mean crazy like that guy who stands outside of the subway station telling everyone his pants are going to take over the world. He/She is either the best troll ever or seriously in need of psychiatric evaluation.

The Seogang books!! Fantastic way to start off. Get the Seogang Korean 1A workbook and textbook combo. Very good way to start off.

Then like someone mentioned, find a Korean at your university that you can do language exchange with. Get them to help you with the Seogang books you will be working on while you tutor them in English. You can then put this on your resume that you have already taught Koreans before, plus the added experience of learning what it is like to teach a Korean one-on-one.
