Many thanks in advance~

Not trying to be cheeky, but you do realize a full third of Singaporeans speak English as their native language, and many of the rest are perfectly bilingual? What are you going to bring to the table that a recent local college grad won't, sans plane ticket and housing (which is quite high)?

One of my former co-workers worked as a teacher for the British Council in Singapore. He stayed there for 6 years and loved it. He got paid quite well, too, something around 5,000 SGD a month. The British Council even covered the entire cost of TESOL Masters degree program for him. If you have ESL certifications and are looking to making teaching ESL a career, you should definitely give the British Council position a shot.

Compared to South Korea, Its a better experience in my opinion.

But take that with a grain of salt. I like Vietnam and Japan more than Korea as well.

The BC won't cover the entire cost of an MA any more (I doubt they ever did to be honest.) They pay for half of it nowadays. I know teachers who left the BC Seoul and moved to Singapore and said they liked the lifestyle much better but couldn't save quite as much. Mainly due to the cost of renting, which you don't get an allowance for, and tax. You can still do pretty well there savings wise and most people seem to think it's a better environment. As long as you don't feel the need to spit or chew gum.

You might post your question on Dave's international forum under "Singapore".

Or not. I keep an eye on the Singapore forum and the post frequency is like one post per month (I tell no lie!). This might not bode too well for someone looking for a buoyant job market. Surprised

I worked in Singapore for two years and thoroughly enjoyed it. I don't know of any websites or recruiters, I turned up there and looked in the paper everyday. I worked at Dimensions Language School which was great, teaching adults from China and other nearby countries 9-5 Mon-Fri. There used to be a Shane's (which sounded pretty dodgy), GEOS (which I'm guessing has closed now) and even university work preparing overseas students for study in the local universities. Teaching at a university or at the British Council requires a lot of qualifications - universities would probably need an MA, and BC requires at least a CELTA but more likely DELTA. None of the contracts apart from BC will pay for any part of your airfare or housing though, and I think even BC only pays part of it.
