I wear eyeglasses and I've always brought a bottle of eyeglass spray with me when I've come over here. For those who may not be familiar with it, eyeglass spray comes in a spray bottle, you spray some of it on your eyeglass lenses, then wipe them clean with an eyeglass cloth.

I unfortunately didn't bring any with me this time (save for a small travel bottle), because my luggage was getting heavy and the first things jettisoned were any liquids that I could most likely buy once I got over here.

I've been to a few eyeglass shops, including some in Namdaemun, and I also checked out the vendors in the Doggaebi Import Market (in Namdaemun). I also tried at Homeplus (tons of contact lens cleaner) and at a pharmacy. The eyeglass guys seemed to know what I was referring to, but none of them had any eyeglass spray, not in use at the store, and not for sale.

I have a feeling this is an item that I'm not going to find, no matter how much I search for it. It's such a common product back in the west, I just assumed I could get it in any eyeglass shop in Korea.

Okay, so has anyone ever bought eyeglass spray in Korea? If so, where? I really appreciate the help. If all else fails, I'll just have to get some mailed to me.

Does it have to be so complicated? I clean my glasses with soap when I shower & dry them with standard toilet paper. Works fine.

You don't need a special spray for your eyeglasses.

Notice that in this country many people wear glasses and don't have a special spray.

Eyeglass spray is specifically designed to remove oils and other residue that inevitably gets on the lenses after a few days. It's really just a convenience spray that makes for a quick and easy cleaning/polish, without excess rubbing that can leave scratches.

It's in common use in Canada with people I know who wear glasses, but it doesn't seem to be here.

I just use dish-washing liquid once in while, works fine for laundry too. I'm too slack to buy all the 'correct' products.

i wouldn't worry too much about the Spray, whats more important is the cloth

like never use even Kleenex tissues, your shirt, etc. to clean your glasses

also, it matters if you get the protective coating as glasses without it tend to scratch more easily

the cloth matters more than the spray, couple of the suggestions above should work fine

honestly i usually just use my breath then wipe with eyeglass cloth, maybe clean entire frame, lenses every week or so w/spray

Window cleaner doesn't work, it will take the anti-reflective layer straight off. I tried that one time in high school... Rolling Eyes
