The William Tell pie (apples, cinnamon, custard) looks pretty good.

It's worth a try, but it's got nothing on Greggs. I'd kill for a real cheese and onion pasty or a cornish pasty right now.

Explaining the origins of Jesters several outlets in Seoul with another two about to open in Daegu, he cited his boss, Han Sang-hoon, who lived in New Zealand for 15 years, as the reason for Australian food giants entry into the Korean market.

He saw the potential in Korea and contacted the people in WA (Western Australia) about bringing Jesters to Korea.

The range of pies include the Classic (lean beef mince and gravy), Billy T (lean beef mince, gravy and melted cheddar cheese), Southern Man (tender steak, gravy and melted cheddar cheese), Stockman (tender steak and gravy), Dr. Pepper (tender lean pepper steak in a sour cream sauce), Russian Roulette (beef stroganoff lean steak, mushrooms and sour cream sauce), Spud Delux (beef mince, bacon, creamy potato and cheese), Maharaja (butter chicken), Pavarotti (chicken, bacon and button mushrooms in a creamy Italian cheese sauce), Morning Glory (lean bacon, fresh whole egg with melted tasty cheese) and Popeye (spinach, button mushrooms and feta cheese).

The menu also features a range of rolls such as a traditional sausage roll, cheese and bacon roll and a spinach and feta cheese roll as well as side dishes like potato wedges.

To get to Jesters leave Itaewon Station (line 6) from exit 3 and walk straight one block and turn right at Dunkin Donuts. Jesters is on the right, across the street from the convenience store.

Jesters is open from 7 a.m. to 11 p.m. Sunday through Thursday. On Fridays and Saturdays, opening hours are 7 a.m. till 3 a.m. the following day.

I went all the way to Itaewon just to try Jester's Pies (and Coldstone) and I must say, it blew me away. I got the Southernman, Butter Chicken, (and for dessert) an apple pie. The soft, flaky-bread...the juicy, meaty filling (or sweet filling in regards to the apple pie)...mouth's watering from just thinking about it.

Really wish they would open one (or quite a few) in Jeollanam-do. In fact, wish they'd expand their operations to the States. Gotta hand it to the Australians, and the Koreans, for giving me a good impression on these little delights.

If I do go to Seoul again, I'll try my best to stop by a Jester's. If anyone knows if there is a Jester's (or Dairy Queen) within Jeollanam-do, please let me know.

I ate the Billy T today and had the blueberry kiss/William Tell yesterday.

It was grand.

Also, I ate at Tomatillo's yesterday. Also great.

I wish I lived closer to Itaewon...

I seem to remember you having moved to Anyang. If so, there's a pie/hot dog place in Pyeongchon that's pretty decent.

Not sure if this is new, but there's a Jester's in the Mokdong Hyundai Department Store food area (not the restaurants in front of the movies, but further down the hall).

Also there's a Tomatillo in Euljiro 1ga station Mirae Asset building.

I go to the Jester's in Bundang regularly. I get the take home packs from there, usually. The pepper steak is my personal favorite. Unfortunately one time the pack contained a seafood pie by mistake. It just tasted wrong. I'm Australian, so I have preconceived expectations when it comes to pies and sausage rolls: savory and meaty!

I like their pies, but not as much as the ones back home. The pastry isn't quite there. That's OK, though. I'm just happy to be able to get one in Korea! Smile

I'd settle for a Greggs' Sausage Roll or a more fancy Steak Bake.

It's there in the basement (along with Taco Bell) and I ate there a week ago.

You speak the truth.

There are Jesters in Bundang, Sindorim, Ehwa Uni, Itaewon and Hongdae. Probably some elsewhere but I was drunk when my friend told me where they where.
The pies are good. Not as good as a steak bake though. Wink

I tried it, didn't like it very much. I'm Canadian so I didn't have experience with Taco Bell or Jesters outside of Korea, but Taco Bell is way tastier imo. If I were going for fast food in Itaewon, it'll be hard to sell myself on trying Jesters again over Taco Bell or even just going to McDonalds.

I thought the prices weren't bad until I saw how TINY the pies are. They look big enough on the posters but they are actually really really small. Like four bites. I guess you can't get meat pies anywhere else, but for a fruit pie I'd recommend just paying the extra couple thousand won and getting a bigger and much much better one from Tartine.
