Bottom Line: What's the Bottom Line on this? Is it going to cost me a lot or a little to jump through these hoops?
Related to that, is there someway I can start up some company to make money off of this? |
well, you know how when you get it done at the airport/ferry terminal in japan? and you know how quick and easy that was?
i'm guessing it'll be almost EXACTLY the same.

Why did the Americans start this crud after 9/11. Then Japan quickly followed and the others after that.
Another crap American policy exported / copied abroad (usually in response to foreigners getting treated like crap going to the states).
As to the why, I would suggest (unofficially) that some Korean politician was given a hard time by the USCIS and is returning the favor.
