I met a guy awhile back who claimed he had a data plan for his Touch but after doing some Googling I've realized that isn't possible. He must have meant a subscription to a WiFi network, no? Anyway, I'm considering doing something similar and was wondering how I would go about getting a WiFi subscription for my Touch. Do I need to take it into a shop and have my MAC address registered or is it as simple as using a credit card? Which company has the best penetration?

And, if it is as simple as using a credit card what do you want to bet that my gimped foreigner only debit card will not suffice for an online purchase... because it sure didn't work for Paypal Korea.

Maybe this is what you're looking for?

Probably need to go to the KT in Itaewon for English customer service.

Like mentioned earlier, the KT wi-bro Egg is a possibility, plus you can take it with you.

I have Qook TV and pay another (I think) 8,000W a month for access to the nationwide wi-fi network. It can be useful in Seoul but annoying if you live in a rural area (my town only has 3-4 Olleh hot spots).
