My wife is going to get the necessary visa in Bangkok and I am hoping I can get just get her a 1 way ticket. Has anyone else had their spouse arrive later and with a visa? My wife is Thai and she has been here many times, and there have been some instances of discrimination with immi. (Incheon once said she wasn't able to change her status while in the country as the rules had changed. Wasn't true.) but if she gets the visa in Bangkok I am hoping there won't be a problem.

If she has a visa (F3?) she does NOT need onward passage.
A one way ticket is fine.

As long as you can prove the family relationship (legalized copy of the marriage cert in either English or Korean) and IF you have an E-visa with a valid ARC she can also arrive and change her status.

i don't know any specifics to your situation, but if they give her trouble, it's possible to buy another refundable onward ticket on the spot and refund it here. i've had to do that before...

Thanks. Generally we have not had problems, but I am always a bit concerned with what immi. will do.

if its a tourist visa, you can count on them asking for a return or onward ticket, i guarantee it. buy a ticket online to take the BUG ferry from Busan to Fukoaka. easily bought and easily refunded.
