Does anyone know of bank here that you can transfer your won to your American bank while your in the states? If not, then I guess just use the kookmin bank with the international ATM card to get your money. |

I know for a fact that one can transfer funds online from Woori Bank to a US bank as long as you know the SWIFT code for the US bank and the account number, but I'm pretty sure that all the major banks are able to do the same.
(That is, if you use a specific version of Internet Explorer on Microsoft Windows, which is why I've recently switched to using a check card for expats that support wire transfers from ATMs.)
Pretty sure all the major Korean banks are able to receive wire transfers, too, although you'd have to use the US bank's website to initiate transfers. |

Having never sent funds from the US to Korea, I thought one could do it from the US bank's website, but it turns out not to be the case, at least for my bank. I would have to visit a local branch for the initial wire transfer, but at least I could send further funds through phone.
Shouldn't be a problem while in the States, but I'm not aware of a method that isn't even more expensive than wire transfers if you're in Korea. |

Thanks Yoo! Woori seems like the big name bank to do that. |
