You need to go the the nearest immigration office with your passport, contract, alien card and 30,000 won. They'll extend the alien card until the end of your contract. It won't terminate your contract automatically, but you'd get in trouble continuing to work and then leaving after.

You hand in your alien card when you leave at the airport. You may be able to return on a tourist visa, but then you'd need to get a new work visa, when you'd found a job. I'm not sure, but you may need to leave the country and re-enter it again to get a work visa. I don't know if visa runs are still required though.

yes, but the thing is, i don't wish to remain with this company. They have not been fair nor above board.

So if i leave on the 10th as requested by my card, the contract will be terminated by default?

If you leave when your ARC expires your visa and status of sojourn will be terminated.

It effectively cancels your contract as well since you can't work without a visa.

If you are just planning to leave it makes no difference. Just leave after you get paid (since you will lose your airfare and severance anyway).

If you are planning to stay and change jobs it means you will probably have to supply a complete set of new documents and make a 2nd trip out (visa run) to get a new visa for a new job.

Why would you want to leave 20 days early. You'll loose your severance, airfare, and if this is your first year, your pension. Just stay the extra 20 days for over a 3 million won bonus.

Your contract has nothing to do with immigration. You can break your contract anytime you want. Not showing up for work one day is effectivly breaking your contract.
