Hey guys, I have a VISA question. I've held an E2 before; gave in my ARC six months ago.

I'm looking to go back to Korea but wondering if it's OK for me to head over first and then do a VISA run in Japan, rather than go through the VISA process in the USA.

Is there a significant reason why you want to come now? I would get the CBC process started before I left at least.

I have the CBC and other documents ready.
I'm considering going over to look because
1) I can negotiate higher salary
2) I'm Asian-American and that may be limiting my chances from the US. If I'm over there already it may help my chances.

100% ok. just tell immigration that youre traveling, and make sure you have an address of where youre staying. dont say youre coming here looking for work. also, dont delete your emails when youre looking for work. when i submitted my docs for a visa in korea, i had to give a detailed description of where i was and when for kimmi (phone numbers dates and names of schools) during the time i was here looking. this is never mentioned on this forum and they do it so that they know you didnt collect income illegally here. good luck
