Hello,

So imagine the worst of the worst of a situation.

I start in a hagwon this coming September, its awful, they don't pay me the correct salary as stated on the contract,I try to get an LOR so I can transfer to another hagwon but the boss won't give me this either.

So I quit and the only option is to go home to Ireland.

Now there is still some time I have to apply to a public school. So I decide to do this.

BUT my question is-Would I be granted another Visa by Korean Immigration to start in a public school FEB 2012 even though I didn't stay for the full year on the last Visa???

Really would like to know the answer to this,

Thanks,
Natasha

Natasha, please stop posting a thread every time a thought pops into your head. Could you not just have created one general thread seeking advice and asked all of your questions in that?

Anyway, to answer your question - yes, you'll get another visa but you'll need all the docs again as if you were starting from scratch..

So sorry 'litebear' for offending you.I don't think I am just posting a thread for the sake of it-all my threads have been on different topics,to the best of my knowledge.

Well that is great then,if I could get a new Visa, are you REALLY sure that I really could AFTER ONLY A FEW MONTHS after leaving Korea and coming back to Ireland??

Would immigration not ask anything??Would they not think that was strange and bad that you are trying to go back to Korea again?

Yes, when you leave just hand your ARC card to immigration at the airport, thus cancelling your visa.

You don't have to go back to Ireland though, you could look for a new job whilst in Korea and get your mum to send new docs to you, then get a new visa in Japan (can't do that for your first E2 though)

To the best of my knowledge, you are. Please chillout and keep it to one thread, you're spamming.

Why so emo about the number of threads? Do you nerdrage when the new thread count on daves exceeds 10 per day or are you just mad all the time and need someone/something to take it out on?

OP:

You should focus more on getting a good position in the first place and less about what do to 3-6 months from now.

If you come in with a seriously negative attitude you can rest assured that either:
a) you won't get a job or
b) your predisposition to the negative will precipitate a self-fulfilling prophesy.

There will be lots of time later to come back if things don't work out for you and you can get specific answers to your difficulties should you have any.

60% of newbies never have a serious problem. Those that do usually just signed the first offer they got didn't check it out first.

Yet I've contributed more to answering her questions than you have. Do you nerdrage (whatever the f*ck that means) when someone makes a negative comment on a thread? Or are you just mad all the time and need someone/something to take it out on?

Why didn't you answer the OPs question and offer some support?

Well thank you everyone who has helped in answering my questions.

I am not as scared now scared, you know, and I used to think that public schools were better but I have read on other forums too -Waygook-and another site that rates GEPIK public schools that you can have a bad public school experience and a bad hagwon experience,a good hagwon experience and a good public school experience. It all depends on the school.

But it really truly puts my mind at ease to think that I can be issued with a new visa so easily!!!!!!I am a little bit more happy this morning! Smile

You know what,I might decide to go with a hagwon after all.As long as I talk to the people who are there at the hagwon and the person Im replacing ,if they say its fine, thats all I need! And have you guyz ever heard of TeachersforSouthKorea-the Irish recruitment agency based in Seoul?

Never heard of them. You should be using loads of recruiters though when looking for a hagwon. Emphasize that you have all docs in hand and are ready to leave ASAP, it will impove your chances IMO.

I'd also expand your search to Daegu and Busan. Both good cities. And yeah I'd agree you're better starting at a hagwon. A few other forigeners there will give you some company.

Good lord another thread? Learn how to use apostrophes and commas correctly. Hint: There's a space after a comma.

It's pretty bad when you're planning your runner prior to getting to the country.
