Okay I'm a total newbie with this stuff. I have a Galaxy u from LG and will be going to Canada for 1 month. While in Canada, I would like to use my phone. I don't plan on using it a lot, just several texts a day (coordinating meet-ups with people) and as few calls as possible. I have no widgets on my phone, so data downloads should not be a problem if i stick to Wi-Fi. I think my only choice is roaming which I can set up at the airport.
My questions are: Am I correct? Is there anything else I should know?
Thanks!! |

I'm assuming this is your phone?

Unfortunately you won't be able to use it in Canada. A quick google search turns up with Canada using the 850/1900 MHz GSM band, no mention of CDMA. AFAIK it won't work for network related uses outside of Korea, Japan and one or two other countries use CDMA, everywhere else is GSM. Wifi shouldn't be a problem.
Someone correct me if i'm wrong. |
