I want to get a samsung galaxy 2 but i'm only in korea for a year so i dont think i can get a contract. How much should i expect to pay for JUST the phone? (and i'll use prepaid calling cards).
I'm in Daegu so any shop recommendations would be great too, or if you think I can find a better deal in Seoul I'll be going there in 2 weeks...

galaxy s 2 is a brand new toy, so you won't be able to buy just the phone. you have to get a contract, the way it was with galaxy s 1 a few months back.
in a few months, you might be able to get one second hand though
ps there might be a chance of getting it in one of the electronic markets if you bargain, but it won't be worth the price because it's probably going to be very expensive
it's only cheap on a contract |

You should be able to buy one outright from any Samsung electronics store. Expect it to cost around 850-900,000 won though.
As with all the smartphones, they want you on a contract, but they will sell you the phone outright as long as they have some in stock.
As far as better prices in Seoul, they should be the same price everywhere in Korea if you are buying it outright. |
