Is Your Average Salary Closer to 2.06 or 3.04 million?
The average monthly wage of an employee at small-and mid-sized firms with less than 500 employees was 2.06 million won last year, only 67.8 percent of the 3.04 million won salary of a worker at a conglomerate with 500 and more employees. The gap is at its highest since the wage of smaller firms was 64.4 percent of bigger firms in 1993. The monthly pay of an employee at smaller firms with 5 to 9 employees was half of that of a worker at conglomerates.

Not me, either. I'm working less than they are, and I am still clearing far about 3.06.

Not bragging -- just stating the truth.

Oh, did I forget to mention my home is paid-for?

About 17, but my office hours aren't nearly the same.

How much research do I need to do: NONE. How many papers must I publish: NONE.

Besides, you're quoting professors -- about .0003 percent of the work force here in Korea.

You're also pitting people with doctorate against those with a BA or an MA. Doesn't quite compute, does it?

Apples and Oranges.

Do you have a doctorate?

curious here . . .

for those of you making over W3million per month, how much experience do you have (either back home and/or in Korea), and what majors/certificates/"extras" do you have? not trying to judge or make this into a competition thing - just wondering.

Closer to 3.04, no experience back home.

I added on housing and airfare because I assume most Korean workers don't get these. I go over 3.04.
