No f-ing kidding.
I'd buy concentrated horse semen from that guy. I've got a bottle from him in my fridge right now. (Makoli, that is...)

This whole thread is retarded.

It's not like he's making a million on your backs by selling you piss water mixed with crack. Check the lids if you're that worried.

So he peddles his (completely legitimate) wares for a bit over the average price, often gives extra, smiles until it's almost creepy, and brightens a whole lot of people's days. (Although particularly nights!). And....?

You probably wouldn't shake his hand either, would you?

Dam straight, and he's an absolute gentleman too. Indeed, he gave me an extra bottle 2 weeks ago.

Im glad to see people are sticking up for him! I saw that THE MAKKOLI MAN facebook page earlier and Liked it to show some appreciation. It looks pretty funny on facebook. All the locals seem to know who I am referring to immediately.

Yeah his makkoli may not be the best. But the guy himself is class. I buy a bottle from him a couple of times a month even though I rarely drink more than a cup of that stuff.

He's awesome... I hate makkoli but he earns my money with his great attitude and funny antics...

It's like buying that magazine that the homeless sell in England (I forgot what its called)... You don't buy it for its ground breaking journalism

The original post seems stupid trivial... Actually, it doesn't even make sense, if the guy's just selling 이동, like you could buy elsewhere.

About aspartame, for the purpose of health I would prefer a tiny bit of aspartame to a load of added straight sucrose, any day. Or the other artificial product, sucralose, whose sickly sweet aftertaste lingers in the mouth.

---

About aspartame in 막걸리, if Belgian ale wasn't naturally sweet, would you prefer to add a little 'NutraSweet'? Or how for about Riesling wine? Would you feel happy drinking a purported dark beer to which coloring agents were added? In the West, the tradition of making wine, beer, etc. is often practiced and honored as an ancient art.

Additives like aspartame are created in laboratories with the intention of effectually tricking the brain into thinking one's consuming sugar. Then they are added to commercial products to satisfy the demand of a sugar crazed consumer population. Where is the art in this?

In brewing beer or wine, if your final result hasn't the right sweetness, different malts or grapes are used.

---

I think 막걸리 is nice, but when I do drink it, I'll content myself with the natural brews, usually bottled in glass.

+1 to supporting a local guy. He's awesome.

Also, he's got the whitest teeth I have ever seen on a person.

I saw the guy a few weeks ago near the station. I didn't buy anything of the dude but I got a very positive vibe off him...

You know, next time I see him I'll buy something. I didn't know he had sucha long history or such a noble cause.

Hell, I'll buy two.

Are you guys kidding?! That guy is magical. Me and some friends were hanging out in our basement art studio in Mangwon, talking about how hilarious the Makgeoli Man is when all of a sudden he appeared out of nowhere! He runs down the stairs grinning and hollering happy hellos at us, wings us a free bottle, and runs back up the stairs again. An old studiomate was friends with him, but I've never seen him visit before. I can only conclude that he is some manner of genie.
