I have a job offer from a GEPIK school that I am trying to lockdown.
However, I'm still in the states trying to get all this damn paperwork together for E-2 visa. I just recently heard about having to get this effing IRS 6166 form that takes 45 days to process and I'm leaving on August 26th.
Here is my question: I qualify for an F-4 Visa. I have most if not all of the paperwork ready to go for it. I think I could send that in this week, and get my visa next week.
So if this is the case, do you know still need to do all this runaround paperwork bull for the E-2 visa? I'vie already spent upwards of $100 just on getting the FBI CBC with Apostille. If I can cut down on that 45 day wait time for the 6166 then that would be fantastic. |

For the F-4 you just hand in your documents, go back the next week or so and pick up your visa sticker in your passport. AFAIK you'll still need your CBC for teaching.
Make sure to check if you're obligated for military service though if you're a male, it's relatively easy to slip through on an E-2 but almost impossible on an F-4. |

Skip getting the 6166... it just means you get to pay taxes instead of having a tax free 2 years.
Get your F4 at your convenience (but you still need the 6166 if you want to avoid paying income tax for the first 2 years).
