Hi.

I'm looking into a position at Avalon. Apparently it would be at a main branch controlled by head office, not a franchise which have more autonomy (more chance to go wrong?!)

I've read the Avalon threads and they have mixed reviews. I was wondering if anyone here has specifically worked for a non-franchise branch, and could you say something about what it was like?

I used to work at the head office branch in Jeongja.

Started out great! Not so many rules, all work was getting done on time etc. As time went on we got a new director who really made things unpleasant, added a lot of extra work, rules and general shit which just made the working environment a bit depressing.

I'm working for Avalon again which is a franchise one now and...again, started off great, but a lot of extra stuff you have to deal with.

However, I'm happier working for this franchise since it's much smaller, closer community and our director really does take care of us and listens to us.

Hope that helped.

Yeh, thanks. It really seems like it's pot luck whatever you do.

I guess they're as good as anyone for a starting job, and likely to pay properly etc.
