Most of the guys I meet are huge losers and/or douchebags. I make friends with foreigner girls here a lot easier than I do guys. Most of the guys her are either GI guys looking to flex their muscles and pick fights or sleazly losers who didn't get any in college and came here looking to bag as any easy/stupid Asian girls as possible (this can be confirmed by any girl you ask).

For the most part I find the western women here pretty down to earth, and I definitely dont have anything against them. My only gripe is that I swear 90% of them are morbidly obese, and it looks even worse considering the girls walking around here are so skinny. If they weren't all twice my weight I'd consider dating one over Kgirls one day.

couldn't agree more with everything written in this post. My exact same experience and thoughts to the tee. Why are foreign girls here so fat and unattractive?

Most of the waygookin teaching staff these days seems within a range of normal. The people described in the "freakiest waygook" thread sound like the kind of people who'd get thrown out of the homeless shelter for being too crazy. I think the people teaching now tend to be, if anything, too bland, although I'd hate to work with the "freaky waygook" people.

I've been here for 4 months, living south of Seoul. I pretty much second marsavalanche's post (page 1).

Then again, I can't be sure about the male foreigners I've encountered, as I've befriended practically none of them. About 40% seem cheerless and introverted, another 40% seem snobbish and fake, and most of the 20% who seem friendly also seem like talentless weirdos / losers / etc.

About the female teachers I've met, I feel like they actually intend to help students learn English, you know, to benefit kids / young people. Whereas for most the males . . . I don't know what exactly they intend. Escape financial hardship? Meet a (thin) Korean girl who can say more than 'hi'?

Korea tends to exasperate that condition.

A disproportionate number of guys here end up acting like clowns 24/7 in order to impress Korean females.

I rarely meet freaky Waygooks and I'm a long timer (been here for 3.5 years--does that make me a long timer?)

Most of the foreigners I meet are degrees of normal and actually that is my biggest problem with foreigners here. A lot of them are just boring and not worth the effort. Most foreigners seem to be the sort that enjoys night clubs where 800 people cram into a small room and get bombarded with sh*t music.

After you write off the clubbers, then the bible thumpers, the alcoholics, the "I-only-make-time-for-my-girlfriend/boyfriend/wife/husband" lot, the people who try so hard at everything that they actually suck, the people who always seem to be in the centre of drama and the people who pretend they're still in college... there are very few foreigners worth hanging out with.

I know way more freaky people back home than here though. 98% of those aren't able to work here for a variety of reasons (no degree being the main one). People seem to come to Korea and think everything is better back home when in actuality, people suck almost equally bad there too. Laughing

Pretty much agree.

Despite the negativity of my first reply (about male foreigners), some I've met seem like genuinely decent / interesting people.

If one investigated the matter statistically, I doubt the characteristics of foreign uni educated westerners in Korea are significantly different from westerners in their home countries. But never having done so, I could be wrong ^^

I'm not sure if it's just the guys, and I'm not sure if it's just to attract women's attention. Asia seems to attract a lot of expats from the West and particularly English teachers who might have been unremarkable in their own countries and desperately seek attention, so they come here and simply by the fact that most of them are a different ethnicity they are suddenly special and remarkable.
