I know prospective employers pay a lot of attention to how you look in your photograph - does anyone have tips on what sort of photos they tend to find most appealing?

I have several headshots (where I'm well-groomed and appropriately dressed), but don't know if I should send a smiling photo (with teeth) or send something more serious-looking. They're probably likely to scrutinize this part of my application the most, so I want to make sure they're not dismissive of me.

Any tips? They're much appreciated, thank you.

If you have an pictures where you're playing with kids (and look happy), those would be ideal.

I agree with the poster above. But both you and the kids must look happy.

If you're the only one looking happy and the kids look terrified then that's just scary. Smile

Also, the location of such a photo should ideally be in a classroom setting. If the picture is of you alone in an elevator with a scared kid, then that's just creepy. Smile

No seriously though, the above poster is right. A good picture of you with students is always welcome.
