just went to the one in incheon yesterday and they didnt seem to know what they were doing. called the helpline about a week before to make sure i had all the documents in order. apparently they get off by yelling at my wife in korean but when i asked them to explain in english they sat there like idiots. quick question to most of the people who applied for the f2 on here: which office did you go to? |

Just a quick heads up.
So, I got blindsided.. AGAIN. I swear I can't wait for this sh*t to be over.
Background: When I left for my honeymoon, I canceled my E-2 to collect my pension from my first 2 years. I came back on a tourist visa.
Ok, so as of April it seems, you can no longer transfer from a tourist visa to a F-2 while inside the country. Now I must make a Japan run. Fortunately for me, I have never been and I just happen to have a week vacation coming up this month. So, I get a forced vacation to Japan. All in all, not too unfortunate.... for me at least.
What I have to bring to Fukoka: my passport, like 65,000 won or something, passport sized photo, and my wife
What my wife has to bring to Fukoka: her passport, the Korean Gu-office registered family certificate thingie (we had to GIVE THEM our original marriage license and a translated US marriage license to get this. Luckily we had 2 copies of the original.) and proof of at least 10,000,000 in the bank/assets/whatever.
Going in 1 week. Wish me luck. |
