Does anyone have information on either of these? I've searched but the internets seem to be rather barren. |

Prepare for the longest interview ever. It's about 2-3 hours with 2 teaching demos. There is also a Second interview after this!
Judging from the interview I had last year, they expect korean levels of job dedication and work hours. the words "un-paid overtime" and " it's service to the company" was thrown around alot.
To be fair, if you work hard, I think there is a ladder you can move up. I've known foreigners working ESl who work for their parent company in corporate(still esl-related though). If your gonna be here long term as a teacher, It might make sense to start here.
They have a very high opinion of themselves and it looks like your gonna be earning that extra 200k. |

What kind of pay do they offer to start? I made a connection and I'm trying to determine whether to follow up on it or not. |

2.1-2.5
I was told my pay would be accessed after I signed a contract based on experience
But they told me almost no one starts off at 2.1 or 2.2 |

Man, that's low. One of my Korean buddies told me he was really impressed with their curriculum, and an opportunity for upward mobility would be nice, but working more than I do now for less money doesn't sound too appealing. Nonetheless, I think I'll follow up.
The other school is an SAT prep hagwon. What is average pay at those joints these days? |

For SAT, 25,000 at the low end, and the sky's the limit at the other. Teachers who can create a demand can earn a lot of coin.
I know the Korean SAT scene inside and out. Feel free to PM me if you need any specifics. |
