I am heading to Korea for my second time in a few months and I am wondering where I can find a comprehensive list of what I need now for my E-2 (I'm Canadian).

I also need to know what I need for my husband.

He is Mexican and our marriage certificate is Mexican (I assume I will need to have it translated from Spanish and apostilled, is having it translated into English ok?). Also we have been living in Mexico for the last 2 years. Will I need a CBC from Mexico?

If anyone could help me out that would be great!

Cheers!

There are plenty of threads here stating exactly what you need for an E-2. Did you even do a search? Or did you just come here expecting everything to be handed to you on a silver platter?

As far as I know, sending stuff from "Mexican" based documents won't help you. I would just assume for the time being Korea doesn't include Mexico on the list of native English speaking countries Laughing

I think they speak Mexican or something like that Razz

Get a CBC (Criminal Background Check) check from the country you are originally from (assuming you are from one of the English speaking countries Korea hires people from).

The CBC will take a while. Get that sorted now.

I've been on these forums when you were still doing keg stands. You're also trying to tell me how to post when you haven't even stepped a foot in Korea (and planning a runner simultaneously, I'll add lol)

Telling me to "stfu" along with the writing style of a high school dropout on an English teaching forum of all places makes you look like a child. Now go back to your jagerbombs, kid.

D*** straight Im gonna tell you how to post. Congratulations on being in Korea for many years, you want a cookie or something?

Hate to break it to you, but just because you feel the question was stupid doesnt give you the right to be a dick.

Stop flaming on peoples post. Try to only post when you have something of value to contribute to the question or topic at hand.

If I ever find myself in grad school I'll be sure to look you up to edit my grammar mr english teacher. lol

IF you have had a previous E2 and you are Canadian then you will need:
i) RCMP criminal background check with Korean consulste (in Canada) certification.
ii) Degree copy - Certified (by a notary within the consulate's jurisdiction) true copy of your degree with Korean consulate (in Canada) certification.
iii) resume, passport type photos, scan of your passport.

For your marriage certificate you will need to have a legalized, translated to English or Korean, copy. Legalized may mean an apostille IF Mexico is a member of the treaty. Otherwise you will need to jump through whatever hoops Kimmi wants for certification (often just an embassy (if abroad) or foreign office (if you are still in the country of origin) stamp).

The EASIEST way to get your husband over would be for you to come, get your ARC and then apply (locally in Korea) for his visa confirmation number.

I did search, and I dare say there are not "plenty" of threads dealing with documents for my Mexican spouse.

I don't expect anything to be handed to me on a silver platter, but I have found that people on this board have been VERY helpful in the past, so I thought I would ask.

Thanks for those who responded helpfully.
