Hello. I am two months away from finishing my contract at my hagwon. After finishing I will be working at the same hagwon part time at an hourly rate while staying on my E2 and attending a university language program full time. I have discussed this with my employer and they are fine with it. I want to get my severance pay and flight money given when the year contract is up. I will also have the ability to quit with a months notice, and permission to work at other places as well. I feel like I should create a new contract with the specifications of this. Is there anything else I'm missing out that I should be aware of? Thanks. |

Personally, I wouldn't do anything at this point. Finish your 2 months, collect your severance, and flight money (if they give you this). Are you certain they will give the flight money?
In either case, I still think you should keep hush about the extra stuff. Just let them renew you on a part-time basis. You don't want to rock the boat at this stage. Either they agree or not. If they agree, you don't need this "insurance". If they disagree, then they are more likely to hold your severance and flight money. They might even accuse you of breaching the contract as a reason.
Stay put, finish everything as is. |

Thanks for the input. Any other advice? |

See the bolded part.
Your employer does not have the power to grant this (UNLESS he owns those places as well).
You will have to get Immigration's permission as well. |

Unless I'm mistaken the rules have changed for E2 holders pretty recently and now working with the employers permission for another employer is much easier and more simple than before. |

You only get the flight money and all the extra if you finish your contract. If you don't finish it, then you won't get it. Of course your Hogwan will help you in order not to pay you.
I don't know if the schools will sign a contract that is also not in Korean. So translate it. But schools usually don't think a contract applies to them anyway. The best situation is if the kids and their parents like you and if you've developed positive work relationships. This is how you keep the school to their word. If a fellow teacher or principal, etc. doesn't like you, he or she will cause trouble for you, and you may not get paid. |

To the best of my knowledge the rules were changed to make working for the SAME employer easier. So you could work at another branch that is owned by the same employer without having to go to Immigration.
For another employer the old rules are still in effect...you must go to Immigration and have it stamped on your ARC, you must work less hours there...and all the other restrictions. |

The way I read it was the OP will finish the contract. They want to work part-time AFTER, so they would finish the contract, collect their money, and then do part-time work. Maybe they will have to work some initial part-time days before getting the money. However, the premise is definitely that they would finish the contract. Cancelling would come when they wanted to stop doing the part-time work after the year. |

Wouldn't you want to talk with your boss about this?
Contracts aren't helpful. |
