dont know if this is relevant or not, but i was home in february, and inq'd about getting a cbc done at my local cop shop(non-rcmp). they, logically, told me that i cant as i'm a non-resident of the city. i'm an F-5, but my workplace(college) is requiring a paper update, probably a requirement of the ministry of ed'n. they dont really want a local(korean) check. dont even though it would fully/completely/logically make sense, especially for those of us who only go home once every three years, like me. oh well...
the typical 3-? month wait is on. u can get a draft/money order here from a bank that works fine. last time, i had the crap sent to my mom's place and she forwarded it to me via purolator/fedex/sth(cant remember). that took less than two months, but that was over three years ago. |

| Go to an RCMP detachment in your city, not a city police detachment. They'll print one off for you even if you're not a resident of that city. I used this one in March and it worked. It should still work. Or, I guess you can pay extra and wait 3 months. |
