|

I tried posting a similar question on the Technology Forum and I got a few helpful replies, but there isn't much traffic there so I'm going to try asking here.
My current phone (a Samsung Anycall that I can't stand) is in the process of dying (strange screen problems and I'd rather replace it than fix it because I hate using it so much) and so I've decided to buy a used phone and put it on my current month-to-month contract with LG.
I went into 3 different LG stores yesterday in my little city and they're all pushing smartphones. I've decided against getting a smart phone because I rarely use my phone and so it's not worth spending all that money to me once you total up the price of a 2-year contract.
I asked some of my (adult) students about where I could find a used phone in my city and they couldn't help me, so I figure the next time I'm in Seoul I'll pick one up.
Ideally, I'd only like to spend 50,000 to 100,000 won, and I want one that is easy-to-use and fairly intuitive.
1) How can I tell if a phone that I'm looking at is compatible with the LG network?
2) If I just want to go to one area, where's the best place in Seoul for me to go in terms of selection and prices to find used cell phones?
3) I don't follow cell phones at all, so do you have any recommendations for any user-friendly brands/models worth checking out (or avoiding)?
Thanks |

Might be worth checking out LG again, some used phones are ridiculously priced but I found one in LG for 40, brand-new. Ideal for a Top-up phone but you should be able to just put your current sim in. |

The huge electronic store at Yongsan station sells used phones for cheap. It's located right next to the subway, and I think it's on like the 9th or 10th floor. You'll see it, they only sell phones on that floor. Over there they have a used phone section. |

Thanks for the suggestions. I'll hit Yongsan and find that store and I should be able to find something suitable there. I'll also stop in to any LG stores I see along the way and maybe they'll be able to hook me up. |

Have the prepaid phones changed in the last year? Too bad, I amkicking myself for not saving my old phone ( Oh well, they proably wouldn't have been able to reactivate it anyways). |
