A friend of mine is thinking about getting a job here, but he's attached to his dog and wants to bring the dog with. So, what kinds of things should he know about the process of bringing a dog over here? Also, if anyone has advice about the pro's and con's of owning a dog in Korea, speak up.

The animal needs to be current on all vaccinations. Current. Your friends needs to have all the documentation for the shots. It's a good idea to have a micro chip injected. New chips are available that allows vets to scan the animal and verify the vaccinations. It makes it easier also when returning to ones home country; no quarantine. The dog might be quarantined in korea. It's the vet's decision at the airport. Many people have brought their dog with them to korea. If you friend lives in the city, it'll be a hassle when walking the dog, etc. Especially if they live in a large apartment complex. Riding up and down in the elevator... koreas seem to be scared of dogs. But again, many koreans have dogs.
