|
|
Hi there-
This is kind of a long-shot but I thought I'd try. I live down in Jeonju but will be coming up to Ansan (near Seoul) to deliver a baby at a midwife's clinic downtown. (There are all kinds of reasons I'm doing this, so I don't need anyone telling me "that's too far" or "why not just do it where you live?"- the decision has already been made). If I go into labor earlier than my due date I plan on getting a call taxi- I'll probably go straight to the clinic in this case, but it's always possible I'll head up too early in order to be safe rather than sorry, and will need to get a room for a night (or possibly longer than a night, depending on how things play out). The other possible scenario is that I'll pass my due date and will just decide to go up to wait it out for a few days.
I'd rather end up in a serviced residence kind of place than a skeezy motel, and wonder if anyone knows of a good and relatively affordable place. I asked a connection I have at Hanyang University (just one subway stop away from the clinic), and there is a guesthouse there that they can get me a discount on (80,000 rather than 120,000) but it still seems rather steep, honestly. They also said that the air conditioners don't work great...and heavily pregnant in August that may not be too fun. So...any other ideas? I'd love a residence with a kitchen, but it's not a dealbreaker. The other difficult aspect, I suppose, is that I can't really reserve in advance, so if anyone knows of any hidden gems...
Thanks! |

I know it's a long-shot, but can anyone (particularly those of you in or near Ansan) help me out? |

| I don't need an ob in Jeonju, I have a great one. But I am planning to deliver in Ansan. Thus, I am looking for options for very short-term accommodation in Ansan. |

If you are looking for a legit hotel, there is the Seowon Hotel located about a 15 minute walk east (i think east) of Hanyang University. It's a little out of the way, kind of tucked down a side street, but it is a legit travelers hotel. I used the gym there but everything looked clean. There is also a new (as of 2.5 years ago lol) hotel located about a 4 minute walk from the Hangyang Subways stop. It is in back of two love motels but definitly isn't a love shack. It's also next to my old building, The Good Morning Office-Tel.
I think the area your clinic is in is called Jungang (sp?) There is a legit hotel there also but I think it is mega expensive and located right in the heart of the booz'in area.
Hope that helps some. good luck. |
