Updated my Korean co-teacher's Galaxy S today to version 2.3.4.

Google Talk now has video calling capability.

However, Samsung's flagship phone, the Galaxy S2 (the phone I have) has yet to receive this update via Kies.

Why does an older phone get the update ahead of the later phone?

Any ideas...

"Older phone = more experience with hardware and software = faster and more reliable coding" would be my guess.

"Servicing the larger customer pool first" would be an (optimistic) second guess.

Or it could just be coincidence.

Checked for an update last night via "Easy Up (Software Update) under "Settings, About Phone". Was pleasantly surprised to see an update was available...was this the Gingerbread 2.3.4 Galaxy S2 owners had been waiting for....

...Well the update went off with out a hitch. Rebooted and went straight to settings. Firmware version was 2.3.4. (GINGERBREAD.EG14). Then went to Google Talk to check that it had been updated to include the Video chat function...

It was the same version as 2.3.3. It had NOT BEEN UPDATED. Checked the Android OS under battery and it was showing 80% battery usage. The high OS bug that was in 2.3.3 was still there.

This IS OBVIOUSLY NOT version 2.3.4 !!!

What is going on, Samsung ???
