I signed a contract the other day. And did a visa run. So I am a legal teacher now. But the results of the medical check come back next wednesday. As far as I know I am in pretty good shape. But suppossing I don't pass the medical, can I be fired and my visa cancelled?
Thanks. |

If not, why would they do the test? |

Don't quote me on this but as long as you don't have any major blood diseases like Hepatitis or AIDS you should be good. Also, you will need to pass a drug test which is tested by urine. |

Can you be fired = yes.
Can your visa be canceled = yes.
BUT
unless you test positive for drugs or have some infectious disease you won't fail the test.
If you fail the test the problem comes in that you cannot get an ARC so you can't stay beyond your 90 day entry.
If you fail the test (potential false positive) you will be re-tested before anything happens.
If you did something you shouldn't have one weekend that could cause you to fail the test then you had better save your money for a ticket to a beach somewhere and look at China as your next job opportunity.

They can fail you for any major medical problem. They don't want you being a strain on the nationalized health system. I know one person who failed because she had a heart problem. and was sent home. |

really? that blows, did she omit it from the health form? were there any repercussions (ie being blackflagged from kimmi)?
my health check said I'm color blind. which is bs because I know I'm not, I've taken that test at least 5 times and have passed with flying colors (durrr) every time. it still pisses me off thinking about it, because the guy that did mine was some dbag intern at the hospital who didn't even know where to go in the hospital when he was assisting me. |

I am worried about the drug test only because I took some medication the doctor gave me and now I read this particular med can give a false positive result. Not exactly the best first impression for my new boss. I guess if that happens I can try to explain it to them. And opt for a retest. If not, well there is always some other place to go.
Thanks. |

hehe we should have started a poll on what the problem could have been.. about 95% of the "medical" questions are from people doing drugs |
