Does anyone know if any Shinhan Bank branches are open on Saturdays in Seoul?
Or, if there is an ATM somewhere in Seoul where I can withdraw Korean Won and deposit it into a Canadian account with a Canadian debit card? |

There are NO ATMs in Korea that will let you use your Canadian card to make a deposit to your Canadian account.
You CAN open a remittance account with a Korean bank that will allow you to make transfers to a Canadian bank from your Korean account (via ATM or the Internet).
To the best of my knowledge there are NO Shinhan banks (teller service) open on the weekends (hasn't been since 2003/4 when the labor law changed).

I've never heard of a Shinhan branch open on the weekend, but you can always use one of the other banks that are open on the weekend (the IBK in Itaewon is open 365 days a year, for example) even if you're not an account holder. Bring in cash and they can transfer it for you. |

Thanks for your help. I guess I'll go to a different bank to transfer the money.
Cheers! |

I had my Korean partner research this question. The ONLY Shinhan branch in all of Korea that is open on weekends is the one inside the terminal at Incheon Airport. I suppose, if you're TRULY desperate, you could go there. |

Final word on this question: I contacted Shinhan's English Language Customer Service (you can chat with them on their facebook page btw). They said that there is a Shinhan Branch that is open on Saturday afternoons till 4pm. HOWEVER, the only thing they'll do on Saturdays is currency exchange. So, you can't do international wires (I specifically asked this and they specifically said "no") or anything else other than currency exchange. |
