I tried to buy some computer software online and hit the same problem.
I got my friends overseas to buy it and sent it to me.

Hi,

I have problems too, I don't know the reason tbh, im sure it has something to do with customs. I also get it delivered to a friend then sent over. A tip, make friends with an army person because I heard they can get stuff delievered to the base because technically it is US land. I knew a girl who got boxes of clothes sent to a friend in Daegu.

Hi all,

I just decided to buy some clothes at amazon.com; however, it refuses to ship anything to my Korean address... Has anybody faced such problem? Am I doing sth wrong or.. ?

I think Amazon.com will not ship certain items to Korea. I only order CDs and DVDs from that site but have never ordered clothing.

Some people will not deliver to any address that requires they complete a customs form.

That's what good friends are for, to help you out of a dilemma. Your friend will do the customs form, even if a merchant won't.

The US military bases are not--technically or otherwise--US territory; they're still the territory of the host nation.

The military personnel can get in legal trouble (loss of pay, loss of rank, loss of career) if they're caught using their military address for unauthorized personnel. Also, packages sent to the military address still require a customs form and, as I already mentioned, some outfits won't ship to any address, including military addresses, that require a customs declaration. In addition to that, the Status of Forces Agreement can limit what items (the items themselves or even the weight of the items) can be sent to the military address.

They used to ship a lot more, but then international shipping rates went through the roof a few years ago. First, fast-ship prices went sky-high, so everyone just shipped slow-boat. So then they just removed the slow option. That is what really killed Amazon sales to Korea.

Oh, and there is now a Korean Amazon where prices are substantially higher, if you haven't noticed.

What is this Korean Amazon? I've heard of Amazon Japan and have thought about using them.
