I ask because I'm in the process of applying for a work visa in china, which, if successful, will be cutting it VERY near to my end date. But I don't want to book a ticket headed there just in case things fall apart and I end up having to fly stateside instead.
So could I still head into the pension office and get my refund sometime this month? In the event of a last minute scramble, I'd rather spend my time booking the ticket and heading to the immigration office and have pension all taken care of already. |

You need to show them proof of travel out of the country and then the Pension Office is supposed to wait for verification from Immigration that you have left the country and have not returned. |

NPS will verify that your visa has in fact terminated and you have left the country (they don't care if you come back in as a tourist or on another work visa).
You can apply any time during the last 30 days of your employment or any time after your contract is completed.
They require:
your ARC (or copy of it),
passport,
bank information (to send the deposit to),
and plane ticket (leaving Korea).

how about if you are leaving Korea via a boat to Japan? I plan on taking the ferry to Japan to start my travels when my contract is finished. Will the boat ticket suffice? |
