The situation is, we've got a KT router that's connected by LAN to our PC, but I also just got a wireless router that has a range limited to one of our rooms.

I've tried a couple of different USB wireless repeaters on my wife's laptop, but neither worked.

This LGI-X501 model keeps asking for some 8-digit pin number, but for the life of me I can't find anything in or on the box or the unit to make it work. It picks up the signal but we still can't connect to the net.

I've checked all the firewalls, etc. I'm kind of a newbie at this, and my Korean is limited at best--I can read the Korean manual but translating most of it would be next to impossible. |

Strange. Did someone have it before and set the PW?

Did you try finding the hard reset button in the back? You many need to put a paperclip end in it and hold for 5 seconds. That should set it to default. |

				That's the model.

It claims there's an 8-digit pin number on the router or in the instructions, and I can't find it on either.

Resetting it did nothing to help. Instructions also say to go to http://192.168.0.1 but that site never loads. Tried Firefox and Explorer. |

Hmm... this may sound simple, but do you have it plugged into the correct port?

If you are trying to change some settings, you're going to have the best luck plugging into the LG model directly, while the internet input port goes to the main KT router.

One more thing -- you might need a PIN from your internet provider to make this work. Give them a call, tell them what you're trying to do, and see, if all else fails. |
