Yes I do. You sit in a holding cell until someone pays the fine. If you are unable to arrange the money yourself, they'll contact your government. Your government in turn will contact your family about paying. If your family can't/won't pay, then eventually your government will pay the fine but in exchange they will seize your passport prior to your being released and you will be issued a temporary one good to get you home.
At which point you won't be issued another passport until you paid the debt, as well as seizure of tax refunds and whatnot.

| dude you have to be a troll, as I can't beileve anyone can be this clueless. In general governments take immigration violations very seriously, overstay your visa anywhere in teh world your going to get nasty fines and detained if you can't pay for them. |

here you go

How is it corrupt to force people who break the law to pay the fines that they owe? What would happen to you in your home country if you committed a finable offence, and then just said, "Sorry your honor, but I can't pay." Would they just say, "Ok, nevermind then. You can go."? |

What kind of logic is this? What you seem to be saying is: "There are some people in this country that break the law. Therefore, the government of this country has no right to punish foreigners here who break the law." Are you serious, dude?

Once again, are you serious, dude? If so, you obviously don't travel much, do you? This is the most ridiculous thing I've heard in a long time. I can't even remember the last time I didn't pass through immigration on the way out of a country -- and I've visited more than 40. |

If you do the crime then you pay the fine.
So simple. |

Kris....
Either your trolling or you are slow on the uptake...
How many ways can this be explained to you?
She broke the law (by 6 months) and now shw has to pay the piper.
Most countries on this planet would fine someone who overstays their visa...not just Japan and Korea.
She overstayed for six months....how did she live? |
