I went to the Canadian Embassy in Seoul a while ago to get my Canadian degree apostilled. The worker instead redirected me to the Authentication and Service of Documents Section (JLAC). I called there for further instructions. No luck. Dead phone number?
Can somebody explain me the step-by-step guide to apostille my Canadian degree in Korea? |

You CAN'T. Canada is NOT a party to the "Apostille Treaty".
YOU need to have your CBC and Degree (photo)copy certified by a Korean consulate in Canada.
If you have no-one at home you will have to do it all by mail.
If you do have someone at home, get them to do the legwork for you.
Your CBC needs to be sent to the K-consulate (in Canada) to be certified.
Your degree copy needs to be authenticated as a true copy of the original by a notary within the jurisdiction of the K-consulate, then sent to the consulate for certification. Details are on their websites.

If you are on an F4 and NOT working at a public school then you don't LEGALLY need to do anything.
The apostille thing is an immigration requirement for the E2 visa and, with the exception of PS jobs, NOT a legal requirement for employment.
If your employer wants it, tell them to do it and pay for it. It is a personal request and NOT a government requirement (you are no different than a Korean citizen in regards to employment in a hagwan).

I got my grandmother to take my degree to a lawyer's office for a stamp. Cost a hundred bucks plus HST. Then she sent it to the K consulate for verification. |
