I was in Hongdae last night and saw 3 cans of Red Bull in the bathroom. The labels were in Korean. wtf????
I thought Red Bull was illegal here? I used see it in Itaewon but it was illegal. I asked the bartenders for it and they showed me some cheap korean energy drink. Some dudes brought it in from somewhere else...?
Anyone know where this stuff came from? |

It's here, but it's not the same as back home. The caffeine levels are lower as well as the sugar content.
Every country has their own laws on how much of a specific chemical they allow in certain products. Energy drinks here, even foreign labels, are a joke. Even when effidrine was on the market back home, it couldn't be found here.
Also, with things like protein powders and bodybuilding supplements, they mostly get cut down with rice flour. So a company selling any kind of product like that would rather alter their recipe a bit and have a whole new market to sell to, rather than not change their recipe and miss out on thousands or even millions of new customers.
You can see it in other things too. American brand chocolate bars have much less sugar here than brands back home. After I had been here a few years and gotten used to Korean foods, my family sent me a care package with some chocolate bars from home. After the first one, I nearly went into diabetic shock, haha. |

Have you never taken a multivitamin? Those will turn your urine bright yellow... almost neon! |

I for one would like to pee in the colors of the rainbow! All except red, that is.
Imagine the spectacle of fluorescent urine and blacklights in restrooms, it'll be like Highlanders vs. Jedis.
In addition I see a huge market for drinks that change the smell of urine, mint or lime would be nice. |

You mean besides the powdered coffee, which makes urine smell exactly like powdered coffee?
My vote goes for a nice smoothie that produces strawberry-vanilla scented urine. |
