For public schools, if you renew a contract or get a visa renewal, do you need to take another drug test?
Or is it just one drug test at the start of the first contract? |

Officially, I tink it's every two years for the health check, at least for the visa renewal. Although some schools/districts/principals may have different requirements. |

One medical for your E2. Not required for a renewal/extension.
Unrelated, a medical (health and wellness) every 2 years (the whole school gets done at the same time so it may NOT necessarily be 2 years after you start work) for work in a PS (paid for by the school).

What is you extend your visa but change your workplace? My university says I have to get a new health check by the end of August. |

I'm budgeting my income to appropriate for my 401k and wasn't sure if I'd have to spend more money for another drug test/physical. We aren't all Mr. Moneybags.
Thanks for all of the responses! Your confusing array of responses helped, somewhat. |

Test was 50K for me. That's the price of 2 pizzas. Not sure where you went, but it's not something I had to budget for. |

When you have expensive tastes and all of your paychecks go to the greater good known as pleasures, a 50k loss is quite unfortunate. |

Hate to say it, but in the real world, a sudden expense of ₩50k is incoveniant but not a major expense. If your living that hard on the bones of your a.., then maybe you should take a second look at where your $ is going. |

Oh, I know where it's going...
it's going towards cognac, vin, fromage, et vtements. These are all more important than some savings account that will grow until I am dead and then given to some undeserving offspring or relative. |

SMOE requires a new, complete medical check each year for renewal. This is not an immigration requirement. It is specifically for SMOE (probably to placate anti-English spectrum, or something like that). |
