I was just curious, with a current E-2 visa, do I have to go for a visa run in order to re-apply for the visa or can I just show up with my alien registration card and they can re-issue the visa on the spot? I looked around and was unable to find any answers to this question so any help would be greatly appreciated. Especially if there is any specific process involved.
Thanks. |

If you have a lost or stolen visa, you have 2 weeks, I believe, to go to immigration to get a visa. I'm pretty sure you don't need anything except you ARC and new passport, but I remember reading on the forum that it's two weeks from the date of issue and not the date you receive the passport. If you're late, I believe you would get fined. |

a) Lost passport and still have your ARC?
b) Lost passport and NO ARC yet?
IF "a" then:
1) Go to the police, file a report for a lost passport (you need this to get a replacement).
2) Go to YOUR embassy ( jump through hoops and get frustrated ) and get a replacement passport.
3) WHEN you receive your new passport, go to immigration and report the CHANGE of passport.
4) get your re-entry stamp placed into your new passport (if you had one).
Done like dinner.
IF "b" then:
1) police report,
2) replace passport
3) Go to immigration and get an ARC.

Ttompatz,
You rock! Now... if only you could help us locate the lost passport, we'd be even more eternally grateful!
