Of course as I said, it's a voting day. It is meant to make sure folks vote isn't it?
For those of us who have it off, who is going to vote? |
I doubt there are many people on this board who CAN vote. Maybe 5-6. I believe you have to be a Korean citizen to vote in this election. |
Exactly, why do we NEED the day off? It's nice to have a holiday, but complaining..... |
I need the day off because my school is a voting center? |
Then I suppose you're not one of the people whining that they don't get a holiday off that the purpose of which is to give Koreans the time to go vote. |

| My wife is making me work but it doesn't bother me. The alternative is we lose 500k in lost income. I generally hate holidays, too damn expensive. I've got Saturdays and Sundays off. That's enough for me. |
What do you have an oil well or what? That's some major cash for one day. |
Korea has been a goldmine for us. But remember that's two people's income, not just mine. |

I didn't have to work on election day but my director showed up at my door drunk at about 6 p.m. wanting to go out for dinner.
Does that count?
(It sort of feels like work - an obligation, from a Korean perspective) |

Nope- that counts as the director just being your friend. Albiet your drunk friend, but friend none the less! |

| Had yesterday off then went in today, taught one class. I was told my next 4 classes were cancelled and could go home - the middle school kids which I only teach on Friday have to study with the Korean teacher for mid terms coming up. Next couple of Fridays will be the same, one class. Wholly crap I love my hagwon. |
