| There is this company my recruiter informed me of called US Legalization which will apostille your FBI CBC within one business day. It's $47.95 USD for the service and then $2.95 USD additional fee for paying with a credit card. It seems really expensive to me but I suppose if you do not want to wait 30 days to send it to D.C. this would be the next best option. |

Per their website:
US Legalization will discard any documents that are sent with no prepaid return airway bill or envelope.
This makes getting documents very difficult if you're already in Korea.
Its actually difficult to get a prepaid international air bill in Korea |

| Mine was Fedex'd from the US Dept of State in D.C. today. That was 4 weeks minus 1 day from the day they received till they shipped it. However, there is no way to ever to do a status check if you're thinking it might have gotten lost or something as far as I know other than hiring one of those private services in D.C. to walk in for you. |

This is encouraging news, but how do you know what day they received it?
Did you use a tracking number or first class post?
So you mailed yours in around the first of July? |

I Fedex'd it on Thurs., June 30th. The reason I know when they received it was because of the Fedex tracking number which you can follow online. |

smart, you used fed-ex to avoid the Irradiation process.
I mailed mine on the exact same day, and nothing... |

Well, not exactly. I had forgotten about irradiation. I Fedex'd simply to be sure it got there asap and to have tracking so I would know when it arrived. Certainly, I would rather not have to spend so much money, but this process is nerve-wracking enough what with wondering if fingerprints are smudged or not when it goes to the FBI, and having NO WAY of finding out what's going on once it enters the BLACK HOLE US State Dept. At least I knew it got there and when. Now I know it's on it''s way back. Whew.
Good luck with yours. Is it coming back in a FEDEX envelop that you have a tracking number for? |

Difficult, but not impossible. The way I did that is I had to open a FEDEX account. The FEDEX people said that that would require a credit card. I had a Samsung Visa card but I actually wanted to use my PayPal MasterCard Debit card instead. So, I gave them that card info and it went through just fine. Once you have a FEDEX account, you can use that to get a pre-paid waybill for sending it back to you. |

Why would your recruiter send you to a company (US Legalization) out in the boonies or farm land? Wouldn't the cows, chickens or goats eat your FBI check? It would be funny if your recruiter actually sent you out there and you're driving into a farm and you're like, what the heck? Picture that scene.

Google map the address.

Another solution is to use a courier service. It will cost you quite a bit of money, I believe I paid 70$, but its super fast and if you need yours back in a jiffy it will do the job.
I had to have mine done really fast, less than a week. I used Washington Express courier service (http://www.washingtonexpress.com/).
Send your CRC to them and then they use the walk in service to get it done same day.
My CRC was apostilled and back to me in 3 days.
They courier all other legal documents too.
Like I said, it costs quite a bit but sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do and I say it was worth it. |

I can't wait 4 weeks or more for my apostille, so I've been thinking of using a service for it. I've never heard of Washington express. If you only paid $70 for it, I'll definitely use them! Every other one I've looked at wants over $200.
Has anyone else used this service? |
