I got my UK criminal record check apostilled from this company and everything was fine. However my employer is saying that because it was apostilled outside of my home country, it isn't acceptable?
Has anyone got any information on this? Has anyone done this before and it has been accepted by immigration? I am sure I read that this was okay, but I can't find the thread and I don't have much time. I will call immigration tomorrow, but in the meantime if anyone has any experience on this then that would be great.
Thanks! |

You have a UK issued document it needs to be apostilled by the FCO and not some Sec. of State in the US to be legal.
Can it get by some clerk at the immigration office = maybe (if the clerk doesn't actually read it).
Would it come back to haunt you = probably.

Thanks for the quick response. Looks like I really screwed up, but I should have enough time to fix things.
Can I ask you another question, completely unrelated, but still in regards to visas?
I will be transferring my visa soon, and have a LOR promised to me from my current school. But what other documents do I need to take to immigration to do this? I transferred once before last year and didn't need anything other than a few official documents from my school, but with the changes in regulations happening its hard to keep track.
Sorry for the tangent, but you seem to know so much more about this stuff than I do! |
