asking on a net board might not be the best course of action. why not ask each company you are interested in individually so you have 100% correct information and so you can get slightly acquainted with at least one HR rep?

Why wouldn't they hire people whenever they need someone?

Per one of my Korean friends, the next hiring period starts in August. That said, I've known him for more than ten years and he's not the most reliable source, so take that with a grain of salt.

How much do they pay? Is their salary better than being a teacher? Entry level?

I've heard that new engineers get started in the 2-3 million/month range. That's without housing. Experienced engineers pay is comparable to that of NA though.

i believe for entry level this is correct. most korean corporations pay for lunch and dinner though which helps, and the listed pay can be very deceiving as many chaebols give sizeable bonuses after the first year of working after a "probationary" period.

Ah, yes the bonus. It's funny that Koreans have no qualms telling people their regular wage, but when it comes to those bonuses, they suddenly go silent...

Whenever a major Korean company has an opening for a foreigner they get like 1000 applications.

If you don't have any experience in that field, your chances of landing the job is like .0000001%.

^ this

most of the foreigners i know working for korean corporations are very charming, amiable, and of course much more attractive than the average bear along with being semi-qualified but i'm sure most of you familiar with korea wouldn't have expected anything less.

if you see a job opening you are interested in, even remotely, it'd be in your best interest to apply stat. don't waste one extra minute because by applicant number 299/1000 they've already probably got a good enough pool to select from and the rest will fall by the wayside due to time constraints of needing to fill the position as quickly as possible.

Basically to get such a job you need to be:

Qualified in the job field you are applying

Have solid references

Sometimes they ask for a certain level of proficiency in Korean.

These positions are typically pretty competitive so you better brush up your resume and cover letter.

As for where to find such jobs, contacting these companies directly (HR dept) is a smart bet.
