Only if you lie on the visa application.
If you declare it your visa application would be declined.

The truth is there is still a stigma regarding any kind of mental disorder in Korea, including mild to moderate depression.
The attitude has loosened up quite a bit- but only in that there are more Koreans seeking treatment and you can easily get a referral to a psychiatrist from a physician.
They also have pretty much all of the antidepressants that other countries do(at a MUCH lower price).
As tthompatz said though, DO NOT mention it on ANY work/Visa related document or to ANYONE you work with, especially any Korean co-worker.
I worked with someone last year who made the mistake of mentioning that she took Zoloft for a year after her father died to the assistant manager(cuz they were such good "friends"). The asst mgr in turn told the manager, who didn't renew my friend's contract because he felt she was "unstable".
I have known quite a few people who took/are taking antidepressants in Korea, no problem--just keep it to yourself |
