I have my FBI background check. I just need to get it apostilled. I was under the impression that the California Secretary of State could apostille it. I called just make sure. After a 30 minute call, I was told that because no one in California had signed or issued the document, they couldn't apostille it.
Has anyone here gotten their FBI CRB apostilled in California? Just want to check that this is true information. |

i did mine in california and it worked. They don't apostille the cbc they apostille a notarized oath saying that the CBC is true (this is also the same way to get you degree apostilled. I got mine taken care of two weeks ago and got my visa last friday.
2 choices Go to LA or Mail to SEC of State's office in Sacremento. You need the county clerk to sign off on the notary that you went to for the LA option (it means an extra trip and $10 to the county clerk's office).
Technically this isn't the right way to do it but it worked for me. The are only apostillizing the oath, not the CBC |
